This August 1971 issue of East Village Other includes a tribute to the writer and abolitionist revolutionary George Jackson in the wake of his murder by prison guards at San Quentin State Prison. Other interesting material includes a dispatch from the anti-psychiatry group Mental Patients Liberation Project. 

The full proceeds from the transfer of this object will go towards Prison Library Support Network, an abolitionist network connecting incarcerated people across the United States with library services and information resources through the mail.
